Worth it!
This book serves its purpose, it is a good reference/educational tool, but is a bit difficult to stay focused on. As an beginner in Industrial Hygiene, the book is a little over my head, but with classroom work, it shouldn't be a problem to understand.
The book came in the time given to me and was shipped quickly after purchase. The book is in the condition as described by the seller.
This book is an absolute must if you are planning to sit for the CIH exam. I think of it as sort of a comprehensive Cliff Notes for industrial hygiene. Some of the chapters may not be an easy read. But if industrial hygiene is your chosen profession, you cannot go without this excellent book. Really, though a very large book, I think it is rather succinct for a topic so large.
I used this book in an industrial hygiene course in my undergrad safety management degree. It is really too large and broad to serve as a textbook because of the vast array of topics covered. I agree with other assessments of this book that it is more of a resource book; or dust collector. By the time you search the book's 2500 pages, you could have easily done a Google search and found most of the answers you needed.I have since sold my used copy on Amazon; no use for a 10 lb paperweight.
This book is compilation of different articles written by different authors. Some of chapters are written for the average person and some are written at the PhD level. Unless you are studying for the CIH, find another reference book.
This is one of the more readable graduate level textbooks I've ever come across. Certain basic knowledge is required, but if you are reading this you certainly have the background required.
This is not a teaching text. It assumes prior knowledge of the subject and is more like a professional reference. I was looking for a teaching text for a post graduate course. It is very comprehensive though.
